On Friday I picked Chris up at the hospital so that we could go out, and his bike was still there over the weekend. We forgot about this unfortunately, and Clara and I had to drop him off this morning. We decided to make the most of heading out early and check out the cronut phase I heard about this weekend. DK Donuts has a version if these tasty croissant donuts called O-NUTs. The shop us not fancy, and it’s a bit pricey ($5 for O-NUT and $1-2 for donuts), but the O-NUTS were great. You can check out DK’s Donuts for yourself at 1614 Santa Monica Blvd in Santa Monica. They’re open 24 hours, and there is a parking lot so you don’t have to pay for parking.
We had a mini O-NUT covered in chocolate, a full size Maple Bacon Bliss one, and a double dipped old fashion donut I was disappointed in because I thought the donut was going to be chocolate and have less of a chocolate shell. The Maple Bacon was my favorite. They had many other flavors as well. Next time I’ll go with Eclair, a Breakfast O-NUT with bacon eggs and cheese inside, or a Nutella banana.
